Daily Data Maintenance does not include the following:
Hardware
-
Hardware failures requiring replacement
-
Alteration of existing system, i.e. adding new hardware.
-
Replacement of an existing machine to another computer (new or used). Labor to move data and applications to a replacement computer is, however, calculated with our standard discount.
Software
-
Adding Software Packages (computer programs)
-
Upgrading operating system requiring a complete reformat (Most Microsoft Products, and Linux products without the concept of a Distribution Upgrade)
-
Retasking of computers requiring operating system replacement or complex reconfiguration.
In the case of "virtual" systems, where one physical computer holds several virtual computers (Xen, VMWare), each virtual machine is considered a separate system for maintenance purposes.
Note that Daily Data maintains one or more "ready replacement" computers for the use of our clients. When available, these machines will be made available in the event of a catastrophic failure to allow time for the purchase and configuration of a replacement computer (up to 30 days). While the loan of these computers is at no charge, a setup fee may be incurred.
